Five People You Meet in Hell

Here is a short scene I wrote for my Creative Writing class. The title doesn't really makes sense unless I was to write out the rest of the story I have in my head, which plays out to be basically Five People You Meet in Heaven, but in Hell.

Cast:
Man Committing Suicide – Charles

Devil Over Shoulder – Hunter

Angel Over Shoulder – Joe

Set-up:

Charles is sitting by himself at the table of his dimly lit apartment. He’s strung out on meth and extremely drunk. A loaded pistol lays on the table, and a ¾ consumed bottle of whiskey sits next to it.

Charles, sounding hopeless: Man, why do I even try anymore? I can’t pay rent, my wife left me, and I’m probably going to lose my job. I think it’s time for me to end my life.

-POP-

Angel appears.

Angel- Don’t do it! Just because your life is going bad, it doesn’t mean that will always be the case.

-sizzling-

Devil appears in the kitchen.

Devil- Haha, what’s the problem? I don’t see what you’ve got going for you. You have no family, you’re about to lose your apartment, and you’re a degenerate druggy. Off yourself!

Charles, sounding confused and scared- W-what!? Who are you guys?

Angel- I’m your conscience. Lately you’ve been ignoring me and that needs to stop! (gesturing towards Devil) This smug basta-

Devil- Shut up! I’m your devil over your shoulder. If you’ve ever done anything fun, it was my idea.

Angel- Look at where that got him!

Charles- Whoa guys, (stepping back) stop! I don’t know what I’m going to do, but you’re not helping.

Devil- What’s there to think about? You’re a loser.

Angel- Stop that! Man, you’re going to be fine. You just need to clean up and get yourself back on track.

Charles-You know what, I think you’re right. I’m done with this stuff.

Devil (Angrily)- Damn it, no!

Devil pushes the Angel and grabs for the gun.

Angel- What are you doing?! No!!

Charles- Oh god no man, please no!

Devil, pointing the gun at Charles- You’re doing this now, whether you want to or not!
-BANG-

Charles slumps over onto the table, dead.

The lights go out, and when they come back on, the Angel and Devil are gone, and Charles now has the gun in his hand with it pointed into his mouth. He pulls the trigger.

The End.

Breathing New Life Into A Neglected Blog

Recently I've been an emotional wreck and have been rather negative. I've decided that's just really not who I am. Starting tonight I'm going to go back to being the most positive damned person in the world. Starting tomorrow I'm also going to start using this blog to post original stories. The majority of these will be written for my creative writing class, but who knows... Maybe I'll get myself into writing more! With the conspicuous lack of my doing anything lately it may become habit.

Unemployment and Blagocide

It's been a while since I last posted on this, and I'm feeling the guilt of negligent blagocide. Not much has happened, still jobless, and still a slacker. If anyone knows of anywhere in the Eastern Greater Phoenix Metro Area (e.g. Mesa, Apache Junction, Queen Creek) that's hiring intelligent, tech savvy seventeen-year-olds, please do share. My favorite PC has become defunct, the motherboard's fried, and I have no money to replace it, so my need for a job is rising.

Beginning on May 1st, my parents are cutting off my phone's data plan (My connection with the outside world!!!), my auto insurance, and anything else they view as extraneous. Life's a pain, eh? So I've declared it Hunter Finds a Job Month. Help me keep motivated people, I seem unable to do that myself.

Who exactly I am.

Hello Internet, my name is Hunter Fyffe. I'm 17 years old, jobless, a native to Mesa Arizona (I live in Queen Creek right now though!1!), and a habitual gamer. I'm a frenzied fanatic of webcomics such as xkcd, Penny Arcade, Diesel Sweeties, and MS Paint Adventures. I'm what can be considered only as an absolute sycophant, bringing myself as close to fame as I possibly can, attempting to communicate with those whom I consider to be exceptional people. I'm a constant twitophile, visiting Twitter many times a day from my phone and PC actively updating and replying to all who message me. I love a good book, and will stay up until dawn if I've begun an excellent novel. I'm a sponge when it comes to learning, and despite this, I'm still an absolute slacker in school who passes by the skin of his teeth.

As I said before, I'm a habitual gamer. I play World of Warcraft almost religiously, Horde-side on Garrosh if anybody's interested. I have been playing that since 2005, and haven't been able to quit. I also enjoy playing Team Fortress 2 and Call of Duty: World at War over Xbox Live, and can commonly be found playing those and others on my gamertag ucwatididthar. I'm always willing to try a new game, and can easily become hung up on a game, spending days playing through them and racking up hundreds of hours. If I do as I plan to, I will often update about these games, posting screenshots and pictures.

I'm an audiophile, I absolutely adore Punk Rock, Ska, New Wave, Industrial, Psychobilly, and Alternative music. I try and keep the soundtrack to my life as interesting as possible, and in doing that I've heard a lot of different music. I can often be found on weeknights listening to the Ska Punk Show on local radio station Edge 103.9, this show has influenced my musical tastes more than anything else probably. (Aside from growing up with my dad, who's introduced me to an extremely wide range of music.) Artists I like range from the soothing crooning of Richard Cheese, to the harsh yelling and blasting of Ministry.
